Oct 16, 2010: The Old Boat has a Make-Over!!!
Saturday morning at 8am, willing helpers gathered at New Plymouth Car Painters to load our freshly painted boat for it's trip back to the boat club. Ready for the new season, our old boat has had a make-over and now looks great in a happy bright orange. The new name: "Kia Kaha".
Thanks to Brent May at New Plymouth Car Painters for the beautiful paint job, complete with a non-slip floor surface. We can't wait to go paddling in it!!
Our thanks and appreciation also go to Hookers, who once again have supported us and transported our boat to and from the painters. Thanks Hookers!!!
July 23, 2010: Mid-winter Celebration
Our mid-winter Christmas celebration was a great chance to catch up with everyone out of season and get the enthusiasm going again for the new season!
This year we welcomed the Stewart family who kindly donated the 'Barbara Stewart Memorial Trophy', in honour of our dear friend Barb.
The trophy will be awarded to the paddler of the season. This year, two of our well deserved paddlers won the cup, Trish and Maureen, who are not only dedicated paddlers, but also active committee members who have done a lot of work for the club in the past year. Congratulations Trish and Maureen!!!
Thanks to the Stewart family for their generosity and support.
