The 2025/2026 Taranaki Dragons season runs from 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026.

Full season Club membership $85.00 per person.

Half season for new members $43.oo per person (April 2026 to August 2026)

Terms & Conditions

By agreeing to these terms and conditions you agree to abide by the terms of the Taranaki Dragons constitution and safety procedures.

It is your responsibility to update any details if they change such as next of kin information.

You also are confirming:

  • You consent to become a financial member of the Taranaki Dragons Inc. and pay the Club membership fee in full.
  • You have read and understood the Taranaki Dragons Code of Conduct (which is found in the Boat shed general information folder and on our website)
  • You have read and understood the Taranaki Dragons Inc Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver Terms & Conditions + Hazards. (which is found in the Boat shed general information folder and on our website)
  • You understand that whilst dragon boating is a safe sport that there is risk involved, and all measures will be taken by the Taranaki Dragons Inc to minimise these risks, however should / if you feel unsafe at any time it is your responsibility to advise your sweep or a teams official and to stand down from entering a boat.
  • The organisers reserve the right to cancel training or an event for any reason relating to safety.
  • You have received a safety briefing which explains the capsize procedure.
  • You understand that you must wear an NZ certified life jacket/buoyancy aid at all training and events and that you know how to wear and use a life jacket.
  • You are able to swim at least 50m in paddling clothing and that if you are unable that you will stand down from paddling prior to entering a boat.
  • You are 12 years of age or over.
  • You will obey the instruction of the safety boat officer, race controller or race starter.
  • You understand that the team captain and sweep have control of the boat and decisions at all times.
  • You will treat any Club equipment such as boats, life jackets and paddles as precious items that are for the good of the whole paddling community and you agree to pay for damage or replacement if you are responsible for any damage.
  • You understand that any time prior to getting into a boat you must consult the sweep or team captain of the boat to advise them of any change in medical conditions or any safety related matter.
  • You understand that any team funds that are held by you or fundraising is to be in a transparent fashion to all team members and the Taranaki Dragons Inc.
  • You understand that any Images captured at training or events may be used in media, facebook and on the Club website.
  • You wish to receive correspondence from the Taranaki Dragons Inc through direct email, via the private Club Whats App group, txt or email newsletter.
  • The Taranaki Dragons Inc is an Incorporated Society that is run by volunteers and from time to time your assistance may be called on to also volunteer to assist the Club.
  • I acknowledge that my full membership must be approved by the committee.
