The Taranaki Dragons Code of Conduct is an integral part of the Rules/Constitution and applies to all members.
We are all volunteers, and will treat each other with respect, courtesy, and sensitivity. We are there for the safety and enjoyment of all members, supporters, and visitors.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:
- Respect the rights and dignity and worth of all people involved in dragon boating regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background, or religion
- The safety, welfare and enjoyment of others is the predominant concern of all
- Accept responsibility for your actions and decisions
- Ensure that your comments are positive and supportive
- Work equally hard for yourself and your team
- Treat all property, equipment and the environment with respect and care
- Listen to the sweeps, they have ultimate responsibility for the safety of the boat and its crew
- Listen to instructions and follow them to the best of your ability. If instructions are unclear, ask for clarification
- If you disagree with a decision, respectfully inform the team captain, manager or coach when the entire team is back on shore
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR:
- Being under the influence of, or using alcohol or illegal substances during any club training or events
- Using bad language, harassing, bullying or intimidating anyone
- Behaving in an unsportsmanlike manner
- Disruptive behaviour
MEETINGS
- We are all volunteers and will treat each other with respect, courtesy, and sensitivity
- We will act in an inclusive and non-discriminatory manner
- If we disagree with a decision, we will not become angry nor personal
- Disruptive behaviour is unacceptable
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action. The disciplinary action may be conducted at club, regional or national level.
